Fred Yong

Fred Yong is a highly respected senior advisor, management consultant, and former Shell executive with over four decades of leadership experience in the oil & gas industry, spanning Asia Pacific, China, and Europe.

Fred has held pivotal roles across general management, commercial leadership, supply chain management, and project delivery. His career includes senior positions such as General Manager for China Sourcing at Shell China, Commercial Manager for Shell E&P China, Chief Procurement Officer for Shell E&P Malaysia and Shell Oil Products Asia Pacific, and Group eProcurement Strategy Manager at Shell London. Earlier in his career, Fred served as Project Manager for major offshore oil & gas developments in Malaysia and contributed as a Senior Engineer and Business Development Manager at Shell UK and Shell Malaysia.

Since 2009, Fred has worked as a management consultant and independent non-executive director (INED), advising various oil & gas companies across Malaysia, China, Indonesia, India, and Singapore. He also provides expertise in change management, strategic planning, contract negotiations and business transformation.

Fred is a frequent speaker at industry conferences and an experienced trainer for in-house programs and international clients, including Reliance International Limited. He is particularly known for his hands-on leadership, strategic insight, and ability to drive innovation in supply chain management and contracting practices.
